In collaboration with Bournemouth University, Weymouth College has been running Foundation and full Degree programmes in Video and Media Production for a number of years, developing a significant number of highly skilled graduates.

As typical for this region, these graduates have tended to leave the county in order to find work in London or Bristol, where employment opportunities are greater. In order to help overcome this problem and to support our current undergraduates, the college is establishing a new media production facility in Weymouth town centre to produce engaging digital media services including video, photography and website design.

It is envisaged that this site will allow students to work with local professionals in an environment that allows them to develop their skills and gain exposure to the realities of the media business. The centre will be well equipped and funded through grant monies.

The college is keen to involve external partners in designing internal plans and to input into the way in which the centre could be used and managed and on the 15th of October at 6 pm the college would like to invite you to an information event about the project, with an informal showcasing of student work and refreshments.
