- Eligibility: Entries will be accepted from any business that pays rates within the local authority districts of Weymouth & Portland Borough, West Dorset and Purbeck Councils.
- Award Entry : Entry to an O4B2011 Award category is by submission of answers to the specific questions shown under each of the Award titles on the following pages. The general criteria for a winner in each category is a summary of the detailed judging criteria.
- Evidence: Applicants must include quantifiable evidence of success/performance within their award submission and which will be essential to the judging process.
- Entry method: All entries must use the on-line entry form at the Open 4 Business web site http://www.o4business.co.uk. Attachments are permitted but no paper entries will be accepted.
- No of Entries: Entry is by self nomination unless otherwise stated in the criteria below. A business may enter for a maximum of TWO awards. Each entry requires a separate entry form along with any supporting statements and/or background material as required.
- Closing Date: All entries (and any supporting material) must be received by 9am on Monday 12th September 2011. Applicants are strongly advised not to leave it until the last minute before uploading their entry form and supporting evidence in case the deadline passes before the uploading is complete. Any part of an application that has not been fully uploaded and accepted by the 9am deadline will be automatically rejected by the website.
- Judging: Judging will be undertaken by a panel of judges and their details will be published on the O4B website and in the Dorset Echo before judging is undertaken. The Judges decision is final and no correspondence on their decision will be entered into. Judges reserve the right to withdraw/transfer an award at their absolute discretion.
- Award Ceremony: Applicants should be available to attend the Open 4 Business Awards Ceremony and Dinner at Weymouth College from 6-11pm on Thurs 6th October 2011. Finalists will receive two free tickets to the Dinner and Award Ceremony.
- Publicity: Through submitting an application, entrants are agreeing to publicity at any time during the Open 4 Business programme. Award Finalists will be required to co-operate with the Open 4 Business Audio Visual production company who will produce a short film of the business for screening at the awards ceremony. All filmed businesses will receive a copy of their screened film. All applicants will be required to submit their company logo/branding in a timely manner to the organisers for marketing & publicity purposes. In addition each entrant will need to provide a short paragraph, of a maximum of 50 words which summarises their business. This statement will be used for PR purposes.
- Copyright: The Organisers of the competition reserve the right to retain the copyright of the material assembled for the competition specifically for the purpose of marketing/advertising and publicising the awards. Protection of any intellectual property associated with an application is the responsibility of the applicant.
