      More Details

      Entry by self nomination Award open to businesses based in Dorset that have been trading for less than 36 months. The award will go to an enterprise that has been most successful in turning an initial business plan into business success. Evidence required: (Max 250 words per item, 1000 total plus max 6 pages of attachments)
      1. What research was done for your initial business plan. What were your measures of success and milestones and why?
      2. At the start-up of your business did it go as expected, and how did you overcome setbacks?
      3. How well has your business met or exceeded targets ? – provide data and give examples of particular wins.
      4. How do you plan to grow your business?

    • Best Marketing Campaign AwardSponsored by Resort Marketing 

      More Details

      Entry by self nomination Award open to businesses based in Dorset. The award will go to the business that is best able to demonstrate the effective use of a particularly innovative or extensive marketing campaign for its own or for a client’s business. It also must be able to provide evidence of how this has contributed to the overall success of the business as a whole or of a particular product or service. If the campaign has been run by a business with significant support of a Marketing Consultant a joint application may be made. Evidence required: (Max 250 words per item, 1000 total plus max 6 pages of attachments)
      1. State your USP (or that of your client’s business, product or service) and describe your Marketing strategy and how it fits within yours or your client’s business model.
      2. Describe how you responded to external changes and implemented your strategy.  Explain what you did to increase the exposure of your business as a whole, a specific product or one or more services you (or your client) offer.
      3. Describe the way in which you use social media within your marketing mix and any plans you have to develop this further as a marketing tool.
      4. Describe the impact of your marketing activities on your profit and market penetration (or that of your client) giving tangible examples of figures and specific business wins, if relevant, to support this.

      More Details

      Entry by client nomination with Client evidence Award open to any service business from Dorset.  The award will go to the business that can present a well planned and implemented customer plan; and can demonstrate its success through achievement of high and measurable levels of customer satisfaction. Evidence required: (Max 250 words per item, 1000 total plus max 6 pages of attachments). We would welcome applications from e-retailers as well as from more traditional businesses.

      1. Describe your Customer Service plan, and provide a copy of your stated Customer Care Policy
      2. Give examples of change/s made within the business as a result of your Customer Care Policy.
      3. Provide examples/testimonials of satisfied customers, in particular where difficulties within the customer service delivery have been overcome.
      4. How has the implementation of the Customer Care Policy improved business performance?  Give Examples.

The award will go to a business that is best able to demonstrate a radical innovation that has directly led to a new product or service.       1. Outline your innovation strategy and the way it generated the innovation.?
      2. What were the motivational drivers behind this strategy?
      3. How have you identified markets for the innovation and quantified the business opportunities within those market places.?

      More Details

      There is no specific requirement for this award, as all applicants entering the 2012 Open 4 Business awards will automatically be considered. The judging panel will award the winner of this category based upon strength of entry and degree of success within the other award categories.
